Malaysia’s “Love Song Prince” Gary Cao was involved in assaulting good friend Justin Lo on the streets of Central while drunk last September. Yesterday the trial for the case was held, the Praetor ordered Gary to sign a $1000 one year probation statement and he won’t leave a criminal record. (more…)
Former Johnny’s rocker guilty of drug possession

Former Johnny’s Jimusho rock idol Narita Shoji (41) is the latest celebrity to receive a suspended prison sentence for drug possession. Yesterday at the Tokyo District Court the judge handed him a 6-month sentence, suspended for three years, for possession of marijuana, saying that he had an addiction and was liable to re-offend. According to the charges, police found 1.689g of marijuana at Narita’s home on September 27. His arrest came in the midst of a nationwide promotional tour of music stores in support of the live album “Parallel World.” (more…)

Following his prosecution for drug use, actor Oshio Manabu (32) is to be released on bail this morning. Though prosecutors challenged the decision, saying Oshio had repeatedly changed his testimony and tried to conceal evidence, the Tokyo District Court approved the bail last Friday. The ¥4 million in bail money has been paid by an entrepreneur friend of the actor, who is said to be planning to live at his father’s apartment in the western Tokyo suburb of Tama. (more…)

Avex Management announced yesterday that they had cut him loose, saying only that he had broken the terms of his contract.
