Disgraced actress Noriko Sakai expressed her will to restart her life during her drugs trial that opened at the Tokyo District Court on Monday, citing her intention to get a divorce and to study nursing care in the future.
“I was exhausted physically and mentally because I was so busy,” said Sakai, 38, who is charged with violating the Stimulants Control Law, as she explained the background of her drug use.

The trial of actress Noriko Sakai (38) dominated the media on Monday, as a large portion of the country tuned in to follow the trial’s coverage. As expected, Sakai admitted to the charges of drug use and possession, and she is now awaiting a verdict.
During the trial, Sakai demonstrated her remorse with tears while stating that she is prepared to divorce her husband, Yuichi Takaso (41), in order to rehabilitate herself. She even hinted at the possibility of her retirement from show business, though she did not explicitly discuss it. (more…)

CHIBA — A vacation home of scandal-tainted actress Noriko Sakai and her husband in Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, was gutted by a fire early Sunday but no one was injured, police said. Since three fires have been reported in two neighboring cities since Saturday evening, police said they suspect arson. (more…)

Sun Music have said they will bear the financial burden caused by the recent drug arrest of actress/singer Sakai Noriko (38). The management company released Sakai last week as she faced prosecution for possession of amphetamines. But CEO Aizawa Masahisa (60) says that the company will take responsibility for compensating commercial sponsors, record companies and others who have suffered financial losses totaling around ¥500 million. Sakai’s fee for commercial appearances were around ¥30-40 million, and she had two at the time of her arrest earlier this month (Toyota and pharmaceutical company Arax). (more…)

Hair samples obtained from Noriko Sakai have indicated that the Japanese entertainer has tested positive for drug use, yule.com reports.
The results of the new test came after the pop star had previously tested negative when police conducted a urine test earlier this month, according to Japanese media reports. But because the results were a weak positive, the police will continue to conduct tests to determine Sakai’s drug history and doses. (more…)
